Adult ADHD Introductory Series

FAQ

Who attends the group?

The group is designed primarily for adults with ADHD.  However, friends and family members can attend as well.

How many people typically attend?

The group ranges from 8-12 people.

Do I have to attend all of the classes?

Members are not required to attend all classes but it is recommended that they attend the first class because it establishes a foundation for the series.

Does insurance cover the classes?

While each insurance plan varies a number of insurance companies do offer coverage for groups.

How do I find out if my insurance company covers group therapy?

To verify coverage follow these steps:

  • Contact your insurance company and inquire about benefits for group psychotherapy (CPT Code 90853)
  •  If you would like help with determining coverage and would like to attend an informational session prior to the start of the group call 763-550-9005 and ask for Ken Traen.

Are family members covered under insurance if they attend?

Family members may be covered if they accompanied an adult with a diagnosis of ADHD.  However, they would NOT be covered if they attended the session alone and did not have a diagnosis of ADHD themselves.

If I do not have insurance coverage what is the cost to attend?

The cost is $50 per session.

How do I register for the class?

Call MPR at 763-550-9005, Monday - Friday,

9:00 am - 3:30pm

Many of the questions pertaining to the class can be answered in the informational session prior to the start of the group.  If you are unable to attend the informational session prior to the group here are the requirements for attending:

  • Each attendee must have a diagnosis of ADHD prior to attending the class. You must also have attended one session with a Minnesota Psychological Resource therapist or psychiatrist.
  • If you have not worked with a MPR therapist you need to meet with Ken Traen, MSW, LICSW for one individual session prior to attending the group.
